Anna and Fabio brought the farmhouse back to life, replanted the orchards, and still live and work here every day.

Stay
Four independent apartments in the farmhouse. Each with its own kitchen, its own entrance, and its own quiet. We call them “nests” because they are named after the birds that return to this land every year.
CasaMatilda is designed for longer stays, of seven nights or more. When you arrive, you will find a welcome breakfast basket in your apartment, prepared with products from our farm pantry.

The swallow builds one of the warmest nests there is. Rondine is the largest apartment at CasaMatilda, made for families or small groups who want to stay together without losing space of their own.
For families, a private terrace, and slow afternoons.
The nightingale is heard when everything around it slows down. Usignolo is spacious and private, with a terrace made for late-afternoon light, a glass of wine, and the pleasure of doing very little.

Cinciallegra takes its name from a small, curious, lively bird. The apartment sits beside the vegetable garden and orchard: bright, with one bedroom, designed for couples or small families with one child.
For two people who want to stay close.
Pettirosso is the smallest nest at CasaMatilda: a quiet loft for two, with just enough space to rest, cook simply, and live your time together.
The Farm
Here, hospitality grows from the work of the land, not beside it.
There is the vegetable garden, the orchard, the seasons to follow, the preserves of La Dispensa, and the acetaia where wine becomes Asì delle Langhe.
The quiet is not staged. It belongs to a living place: birds in the morning, work in the fields, a tractor in the distance.
Some days you walk to Dogliani — for gelato, lunch, or dinner. Others you stay on the farm: a walk through the orchard, the vegetable garden, and the hills around the farmhouse.
Some days lead to wine tasting among the vines. Others lead to the saltwater pool, the Finnish sauna, or a massage by appointment.
Evening arrives without needing to be planned.

The Region
Dogliani is close by: the Saturday market, Dolcetto wine, the old centre, and the daily life of a real Langhe town.
Beyond it, the hills open in every direction: Monforte d'Alba, Barolo, Alba, Asti, the wine roads, the cellars, the truffle season, and the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Pollenzo.
Some guests go out every day to explore the territory. Others prefer to stay here, without doing too much. Both are right.

Around CasaMatilda are high villages, towers, castles, and wine museums: nearby places to visit without turning your day into a rush.
Ancient hilltop village, with walls, Porta Soprana, clock tower, and the Dogliani Belvedere. Free access.
A panoramic neo-Gothic residence dating back to 1880, overlooking the hills. Today, it is primarily a private venue for hospitality and events.
Historic fortress that houses the WiMu, Wine Museum, and the Barolo Regional Wine Shop.
A 14th-century Gothic military castle, vertical and still very intact, with historic fireplaces and 15th-century frescoes.

We recommend longer stays because this is what we have learned from our guests. Guests who stay only a few days often leave saying they wish they had more time. A week allows you to experience CasaMatilda calmly: to go out into the Langhe hills, stay on the farm, walk, rest, cook something simple, and truly understand the rhythm of this place. In some seasons, shorter stays are also possible, starting from two nights.
